    LEADER Funding for the Willoughby 2012 Programme

    The Willoughby Society has been successful in its application, on behalf of the Village, for funding to support a series of events celebrating the Queen's Jubilee, the London Olympics, and the Society's 50th Birthday. Designed to appeal to villagers and their neighbours the events will be centered on Marquees on the playing field and the Village Hall. Details of the programme will be published in the Willoughby Monthly and Leam Valley Messenger as plans evolve.

    Funding is being provided by the Central Warwickshire LEADER Programme which has secured £1.2 million of European funding through Defra. It is available for rural parishes of Rugby and Warwick looking to boost economic and social activity in their area, The funding will be available until 2013. Central Warwickshire LEADER aims to promote the use of services in rural areas through horicultural activities, art initiatives, and industry links with a focus on creatinga strong sense of place and promoting sustainable and inclusive rural communities.
